supporting seniors

"When I come here I feel like I can make choices and have a little control
over my life…it makes a difference to me.” - O.M., Katonah

1 in 10 seniors in Westchester County lives in poverty. These neighbors are often struggling to stay in their homes and must make hard choices each month between paying bills, buying medicine, paying rent, or putting food on their table.

Our choice food pantry and clothing boutique helps to meaningfully reduce stress for almost 700 seniors a year by supporting their basic needs. In 2020 we began a robust home delivery service and now serve our homebound seniors by making monthly grocery deliveries. Our dedicated volunteers made approximately 500 home deliveries to seniors in 2023.

Seniors also benefit from our computer skills instruction, job counseling, health screenings, and eye exams. All are offered assistance in accessing social services and navigating additional community resources.
