Over 250 guests gathered in KMA’s gorgeous Sculpture Garden for a beautiful evening filled with unique fashion.

The fashion show showcased the designs of 10 adults and 10 fashion students who were tasked with designing runway-ready outfits made with recycled materials or torn and damaged clothing. Local Designer Andrew Yu mentored all the designers; helping them fine-tune their designs and create show-stopping works of wearable art.

13 judges from the metro New York area previewed the outfits before the event, judging students and “Makers” on the idea behind each design and creative use of materials. Each entry was judged on its creativity and how well the design encompassed the concept of nature and environmentalism.

Brandon Maxwell, Project Runway Judge,  came to the stage at the end of the show to announce the grand prize winner. However, the fashion show judges were so impressed with ALL the designers and their talent, that every designer was awarded a cash prize!
