Community Center of Northern Westchester Celebrates 20 Years of Service at October 20th Benefit Cocktail Party and Silent Auction

The Community Center of Northern Westchester’s 20th Anniversary Benefit Cocktail Party & Silent Auction will take place Saturday, October 20th, 2012, at St. Matthew’s Fellowship Room, 382 Cantitoe Street (Route 22) in Bedford, New York, from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM.

The Center is celebrating twenty years of service to the community this October, and this annual benefit cocktail party and silent auction will be dedicated to this milestone anniversary.  New, updated bidding options will be available for the silent auction, and the benefit will not only look back on its first 20 years, but also look forward to the next 20.  Helping to make the event special are benefit committee co-chair Sue Brofman, and new co-chairs Jeff Goodwin and Andy Vitrone of Katonah gourmet foods purveyors Wm. Nicholas & Co.

This year’s Community Center event will include local entertainment and a high-technology silent auction, the proceeds of which go toward furthering the Center’s work helping neighbors in need.  Katonah residents Celeste Potash and Rebecca Roban, co-chairs for this year’s auction, have been “overwhelmed” by the generosity of the community.  Among the auction item highlights are fine dining experiences, local club memberships, a pair of tickets, backstage passes and signed cast poster to “The Book of Mormon,” numerous fine wines, and a hot-air balloon ride. This year there will also be a chance to win an iPhone 5, William Nicholas gift card, $500 Visa card and incredible diamond hoop earrings, at various raffles that will be pulled throughout the evening.

The Center will post the auction catalog online and on social media during the week before the event. To bid in advance, go to the website, ibidmobile.net, during the week before the event.

Goodwin and Vitrone, previous supporters of this annual event, are enthusiastic about local support this event has generated.  “Everyone involved in this organization is wonderful,” Vitrone says.  “It’s easy to want to jump in and do your part.”  Co-chair Sue Brofman adds, “We’re very excited about this year’s event.  With a wide variety of wonderful auction items, exciting raffle items, hors d'oeuvres by Wm. Nicholas and a selection of wines and liquor, not to mention a chance to see old friends and meet a few new ones, the evening promises to be memorable.”

Tickets for the October 20 benefit may be purchased online at communitycenternw.org/annual-benefit.html, starting at $95.
