Church Tavern Challenge

REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN!

Registration for the 2019 St. John’s Parish Labor Day Church Tavern Challenge 5K/10K/1Mile Run/Walk presented by Domino Sugar is now open on the running website: https://runsignup.com/churchtavernchallenge

The Challenge features races to appeal to everyone from the serious runner to families who just want a fun day together, and this year adds a 1 Mile event to the returning 5K, 10K and Kids 1K. The traditional tankards will be awarded to first-place male and female finishers in each race, with other prizes for top finishers in various age groups. Beginning an hour earlier than last year’s Challenge, the first starting bell will ring at 8:30am on Monday, September 2. Runners (and walkers) will wind through the hills and country lanes of South Salem, New York, starting and finishing at St. John’s Church on Spring Street, where a delicious barbecue and liquid refreshment will await the competitors and their families.

In addition to celebrating Labor Day and encouraging fitness in our community, the event raises money to help with the outstanding work of the Community Center of Northern Westchester and the continued work of the parish.
