Community Center of Northern Westchester Celebrates 20th Anniversary With an Art Contest for Kids

For more than twenty years, the Community Center of Northern Westchester (CCNW) has brought together children and adults to help neighbors in need. To help mark 2012 as the Center’s 20th anniversary year, the CCNW board, staff and friends are asking local kids to create new art to illustrate the Center’s mission.

 

Children 13 and under are invited to create a drawing illustrating “Helping Neighbors for 20 Years.” The Center is collaborating with the Katonah Museum of Art to judge and exhibit the entries. Museum Executive Director Neil Watson and Learning Center Curator Naomi Leiseroff will judge. The winning drawing will be featured on a new canvas bag available from the Center.

The “Helping Neighbors for 20 Years” art contest kicks off a year of events commemorating CCNW’s 20th Anniversary. An open house celebration on April 28th at the Center is the next opportunity to join your neighbors in celebrating the Center’s mission and work.

 

Established in 1992, the not-for-profit Community Center of Northern Westchester provides supplemental food, clothing, classes, and other resources to those in need in more than thirty communities in Northern Westchester County. It welcomes broad volunteer involvement and participation. The Center is supported by 29 religious, civic and educational organizations, and the generosity of the greater Northern Westchester community.
